Understanding the Now Screen

The Now screen (Home) is the first view you see when you open the app. It offers a snapshot of key metrics and features, making it easy to get familiar with the app.

From here, you can access Settings to customize your experience, track your current stress, log a check-in, adjust vibrations, view key metrics, and more.

Header: Settings and Device Details

Through the home screen header you can access the following:

  • Settings screen: Customize your preferences and view important personal details. To access Settings tap the gear icon in the top left corner of the home screen.

  • Device details screen: It is represented in the shape of a watch icon in the top right corner of the home screen and you can tap to access this screen. The watch icon displays your device's battery percentage and its connectivity status in a simple view.

    • A green circle on the watch icon means you are connected.

    • A red circle indicates that the app is not connected to the device.

Reactivity Monitor Overview & Vibrations

Reactivity Monitor Overview

In this section, you'll see the Reactivity Monitor for the last hour, showing either more or less reactive states. To view the full graph, tap the Reactivity Monitor line chart to access the Timeline screen, or tap Timeline at the bottom of the app.

Check-in & Check-in Vibrations

You’ll also find a Check-In button that allows you to quickly log how you’re feeling in the moment. Learn more about the Check-in feature in this guide.

On the same graph section, on the right side, you'll see a Vibrations button. Tap it to enable or disable Random and Prolonged Stress vibrations. Learn more about Check-in Vibrations in this guide.

Empty states

You may not always see your Reactivity Monitor data immediately when opening the app, as it can take a few minutes to sync. Don’t worry—the app will keep you informed with pop-up messages at the top of the screen.

If you're not currently wearing your watch but are still connected — and you were wearing it earlier in the day:

  • Vital data won’t be available, as it’s shown in real time and requires the watch to be worn at that moment.

  • Metrics data will be available, since it reflects the periods when you were wearing the watch earlier that day.

If you are not wearing your watch and are not connected:

  • Vital data won’t be available, as it’s shown in real time and requires the watch to be worn at that moment.

  • Metrics data won't be available unless you log an activity or sleep in the app (without wearing the watch).

If you are connected but didn't wear the watch at all during the day and haven't logged any activity:

  • Vital data won’t be available.

  • Metrics data won't be available.

Sync states

If you're connected but your data is still syncing, you may see dashes instead of data, and the Reactivity Monitor will be temporarily unavailable.

Once syncing is complete, your Reactivity Monitor, vital data, and metrics will become visible.

If you've added activities during this syncing period, only activity or sleep data may appear until the full sync is finished.

Vitals

Below your Reactivity Monitor overview, you'll find four vital cards offering a quick snapshot of your well-being. These cards display key metrics that you can tap to view in detail on the Timeline screen:

  • Heart Rate (HR): Beats per minute

  • Activity: Time since your last movement

  • Steps: Total steps taken today and steps completed in the past hour

  • Motion: Level of movement (only available on iOS devices)

Note that the colours of your vital cards are in line with your Reactivity Monitor state.

Metrics

This section offers a diverse set of metrics, providing you with a quick and easy overview of your health. These cards display key metrics that you can tap to view in detail in the Overview screen.

Tapping the sleep-related cards opens the Sleep Summary screen, where you can view insights from the previous night (available on iOS devices only).

The following metrics are displayed:

  • Stress Duration

  • Stress Recovery

  • Stress Frequency

  • Reactivity Time

  • Intense Activity

  • Summary of Activities

  • Sleep Duration

  • Times awake

  • Average Heart Rate Variability (HRV) - iOS only

Quick Actions

Quick Actions make it simple to stay connected to your well-being. With a tap on the '+' icon, you can quickly set an Alarm, start an Activity, or log Sleep (available only for iOS users).

To use these quick actions, simply:

  1. Go to the NOW tab.

  2. Tap the '+' icon at the bottom right corner.

  3. Select + Alarm, + Start Activity, or + Log Sleep.

Set an Alarm

With NOWATCH, you can set an alarm to wake you up with gentle vibrations, helping you feel fresh and ready for the new day.

Currently, you can set a maximum of one alarm per day. We are working to remove this limitation in future updates.

Start an Activity

Easily start any activity, whether it’s climbing or a therapy session, to track both physical movements and emotional states, helping you see how they impact your overall well-being.

For a full list of activities you can log, check out this article.

Log Sleep

Logging sleep helps you keep track of your rest patterns and gain insights into your overall well-being.

This quick action is especially useful if you notice any discrepancies in your sleep data. You can easily adjust your asleep and awake times by tapping the '+' icon. Learn more about manual sleep logging here.
